Good learning content should make it possible to understand where important facts came from. KidzFeed prefers sources with clear expertise, accountability and current information.
Sources we prefer
- Government, intergovernmental and public scientific agencies
- Universities, museums, libraries and recognised research institutions
- Peer-reviewed research and official datasets when suitable for the topic
- Established educational and reference organisations with named editorial responsibility
How sources are used
Important or changeable claims should be checked against the most direct reliable source available. When a visible Sources section is included, its links should support specific parts of the guide rather than serve as a general reading list. A “Sources checked” label is shown only after an editor records that review.
What we avoid
We do not treat search snippets, anonymous posts, copied fact lists or AI-generated responses as authoritative evidence. Commercial sources may be useful for product-specific facts, but they are checked for conflicts of interest and supported elsewhere when possible.
Link and date checks
Sources and time-sensitive facts should be revisited during substantial updates. If a link stops working, we try to replace it with the original publisher’s current page or an equally authoritative source.
