How we create a guide
- Choose a focused learning question. Each guide should have a clear subject, audience and purpose.
- Research trustworthy evidence. Writers prefer primary and authoritative sources such as government agencies, universities, museums, scientific organisations and established reference works.
- Write for understanding. We explain unfamiliar terms, use descriptive headings and add facts, activities or knowledge checks that support learning.
- Check before publishing. Our pre-publish review checks the title, summary, structure, images, sources, audience classifications and learning elements.
- Review and improve. Guides may be updated when facts, curriculum needs or trusted sources change.
Responsible use of automation
Automation may help organise classifications or suggest summaries, but a provider response is not treated as a fact source. Editors must review suggestions before anything is saved or published. We do not intentionally send visitor analytics, comments, subscriber information or children’s personal data to content-generation services.
Authors and reviewers
Articles identify their author and last updated date. A reviewer or “Sources checked” label appears only when that step has actually been recorded. We do not invent qualifications or expertise.
Advertising and editorial independence
Advertising helps support the site, but advertisers do not choose our article conclusions. Ads should be clearly distinguishable from learning content and should not interrupt essential headings, answers or controls.
